Oats Dosa- No fermentation

Ingredients Required:

  1. Channa Dal- 1/2 cup
  2. Green Moong (Pesarapappu) Dal- 1/2 cup
  3. Urad Dal – 1/2 cup
  4. Toor Dal – 1/2 cup
  5. Traditional Oats- 1 cup
  6. Red Chillies- 2

Preparartion of batter: Throughly wash all the dals and oats. This step is required to remove starch. Too much of starch might lead to stomach gettign upset. After washing the dals and oats together, soak them in water for 4-6 hours along with the red chillies. Once the ingrediets are soaked well, remove the excess water and grind the them to make a batter. Keep the consistency of the batter similar to a dosa batter. Once the batter is ready, add salt as per your taste and you can start making dosas.

Health Benefits: In my experience, this batter seems to be a much better option to the regular dosa batter made from Urad Dal and Rice. This batter has more protien content that comes from teh dals and less carbohydrates from the oats when compared to the Urad+ Rice Dosa batter.
